Jet Lagged

San Francisco was an experience to say the least!

I loved certain parts...the unique houses built into the hillside, riding on the cable cars, the change in elevation (not hard to please this sea-level girl), the WEATHER, the clam chowder I date down at Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square shopping (per the advice of one very smart man), the seals, the 180 degree view from my hotel room...

, and the little glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Of course it wasn't until after I arrived that I was asked why I didn't bring someone along for the trip. I think I would have enjoyed the city even more had I brought someone to explore with. I didn't take nearly enough pictures but it was a good taste of the city so that if I go back, I'll have a better sense of what I want to do and see.

I loved walking down the Embarcadero and being able to see the water. I'm not a "big city girl" and would prefer to see trees, grass, and water than see buildings and asphalt. That's my only complaint about San Francisco and it's not even a complaint about the city in particular, just big cities in general. I will admit, I didn't think people really hung clothes out of their windows to dry...I thought that only happened on movies. And don't even ask how long it took me to wave down a taxi one night...lets just say it involved being in the middle of the road and making a fool out of myself to make him stop. They make it look so easy on Cash Cab!

I may have had an "extended layover" on the way home and dare I say, I may have had more fun during said pit stop than I did in San Francisco. Guess you'll never know... ;)

So happy you loved SF-- it is an amazing city and I wish I could've spent more time when I was there for work in June. I'm also glad to hear that your "extended layover" was time well spent. ;) Good for you!

Nice on the layover! Sounds like it was very worth it. San Fran looks neat. Funny about the clothes! They def. do that overseas.
